TEACHERS

Teachers our the lifeblood of our district. We must engage, empower, and embolden our teachers!

Our support as a community, district administration, student and parent must be with our teachers. Parents, our teachers need more than brownies and donuts as support. We must allow our educators to define what in-class discipline means in relation to our student's teaching and learning. We must increase trust that allows our teachers to do their important role.

Nick supports RPS having a lower fund balance to provide more to our educators who live and work among us. Our district ranks 16 of 20 in Kent County in compensation and most teachers still want to be here. This speaks volumes of our community. We must raise our voices so that Lansing can hear us as teacher salaries (operating funds) can only come from our State School Aid Fund (SAF).
